What’s your favourite thing about working at CIRCA?
Since starting at CIRCA almost two years ago, I have worked with people across the country from so many cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I love learning from different people and each person in our network brings a new perspective! I also love the diversity of topics I get to work on, from COVID vaccinations to recycling, and from funerals to workers’ rights. It never gets boring, and I get a small insight into so many aspects of society.
What drew you to working in this space?
I’ve always loved travel, learning about different cultures and understanding people. I chose to study Social Inquiry and International Studies at university before knowing that a job like social research even existed, so I feel pretty lucky to have found a place that suits my interests so well! I’ve always wanted to do work that helps address the inequalities in whose voice is heard, which is something that CIRCA does really well.
Favourite travel spot and why
I went on my second trip to Mexico last year, and it is definitely up there. The people, the food, and the natural beauty of the country is hard to beat! It’s also a much larger and more diverse country than many people assume. Last time I was there, I climbed a 5,000m volcano, explored a huge bustling city, and relaxed on a tropical beach all within the space of three days.
