Summary

We worked with Aboriginal Affairs to develop the monitoring and evaluation framework for OCHRE (Opportunity, Choice, Healing, Responsibility and Empowerment), the NSW Government plan for Aboriginal Affairs. OCHRE includes a number of initiatives that focus on promoting language and culture, enhancing opportunities, developing learning pathways, providing choice and empowering Aboriginal people and communities.

Our methodology

We worked with Aboriginal Affairs to develop the monitoring and evaluation framework for OCHRE, with the key underlying principle being that Aboriginal voices drive the evaluation, determine what success looks like and how it is measured. The approach included a series of workshops with government stakeholders, community representatives, and other key stakeholders.

Consultations were conducted with 15 NSW communities to develop the evaluation framework.
