Evaluation of CALD Gambling Help Campaign

Summary

CIRCA worked with Ipsos and a government department on a research project to evaluate the impact of a Gambling Help campaign launched in April 2021. Ipsos engaged CIRCA to facilitate online in-depth interviews with problem and moderate risk gamblers as well as family members of problem and moderate risk gamblers from Vietnamese and Arabic cultural backgrounds. The goals of this research were to:

  • Assess the level of campaign recall;
  • Evaluate the campaign message effectiveness; and
  • Understand the impact of the campaign on gambling help seeking behaviours.

CIRCA’s Research Approach

CIRCA facilitated 10 in-depth interviews (5 with Arabic speaking adults and 5 with Vietnamese speaking adults). CIRCA was able to complete this job in under 4 weeks, as a rush-job for the client.

Research Findings and Outcomes

The information collected in the interviews provided insights to the extent of campaign recall and message effectiveness, as well as the impact of the campaign on gambling behaviours.
