FECCA 2022 Conference: Advancing Multicultural Australia

By June 21, 2022 Uncategorised

On June 16-17, 2022, representatives from CIRCA and Cultural Perspectives attended the FECCA 2022 conference. The FECCA conference, co-hosted by The Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA), and the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (ECCV), is Australia’s premier conference on multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion, and migration. The conference hosted, among others, numerous multicultural community representatives and organisations, policy makers, service providers and academics for two days of meaningful presentations and speakers.

This year, some of the topics covered included Human Rights and discrimination, lessons learned from COVID-19, disability, climate change, women in leadership, racism,  domestic and family violence and mental health. CIRCA also welcomes the Federal Government’s announcement at the FECCA conference, that it will begin collecting ethnicity data, as a step to improve diversity data collection in Australia.
