Shane is a Kokotha descendant from Central South Australia who has an extensive background in working with Aboriginal communities in South Australia.

Before joining CIRCA in 2020 as a Research Consultant, Shane was the Senior Research Fellow at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute where he led a Commonwealth-funded research project with a focus on models of aged care for older Aboriginal people living in rural and remote settings.

Previous to his work at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, Shane was employed by the South Australian Government as the Senior Aboriginal Consultant and was responsible for leading the development and implementation of Domiciliary Care’s Aboriginal Services Strategy for service improvement.

In addition to his extensive background in Aged Care policy and programs, Shane has experience working with Aboriginal families and communities in Primary Health Care settings and has worked on various other research projects in South Australia.
